About CATSELF:

Catself started sharing her music by playing in pubs, mainly in Ireland and Norway, and occasional illegal busking in Finland. In autumn 2008 she decided to focus seriously on music, made the first multi-instrumental recordings of some of her songs and immediately posted them on fundraising site for musicians, SellaBand. Her compositions, often with elaborate and adventurous arrangements going in unexpected directions, and her playful lyrics quickly found new fans. Catself kept climbing up the SellaBand chart until in 2011 she reached her target of 40 000 €.

Catself has finished working on her debut album this year. The album was recorded at Preisner Studio in Niepołomice, Poland. Most of the songs have been recorded with the accompaniment of Polish folk band Saint Nicholas Orchestra.

Water's Gift will not appear on the album; however, Catself's believers have already received it as a bonus download. The song was arranged and produced by Wim Oudijk. The other song produced by Wim Oudijk, Consolation Asteroid, is accompanied by a video which was made with the help of Catself's fans, and which you can see above.

Catself will play a few shows in the Netherlands this summer: in June, she will play three times at The Hague International Singer-Songwriter Festival and at Café de Tregter in Leiden (sharing the stage with Chabliz. In August, you can see her at her first festival in the country where she lives, Finland: she will play at Faces Etnofestival.
