Alternative rock band Absyntia was formed by the turn of 2007 and 2008 in Tricity (an urban area of northern Poland). The band included: lead singer, guitarist and song writer Piotr Truchel, bass guitarist Mariusz Krolikowski and drummer Arek Przybyl. After an annual period of composing and rehearsals a promo CD ‘Nocne historie’ (in translation: ‘Stories of The Night’) was recorded and released (March 2009). It consisted of 8 tracks, from which some were played in ‘Trojka Polskie Radio’, ‘Radio Euro’, ‘Radio Gdansk’, ‘ProRadio’, ‘Megastacja’, and other media. At the same time Absyntia began to perform at local music scene, playing gigs in clubs, pubs and concert halls (together with Lukasz socha – additional guitarist). Also in 2009 violinist Kasia Duzdal and cellist Zosia Wrobel join the band to improve the power and variety of live performances. In 2010 new drummer – Maciek Mackiwicz – and guitarist – Michal Swiezynski – joined the band and more less at the same time cellist Zosia Wrobel had to leave because of taking up studies at Music Academy in Poznan.
